I am Kath I live in the northwest with my husband Roly and son and lots of bulldogs
I have been a volunteer for bulldog rescue for 8 years and a trustee for 6 years.
I have loved bulldogs since being a small child and as soon as I was able to give one my devotion, I got my first bulldog and my obsession grew from that moment
I work in the health service so do my volunteering mainly at the weekends and my trustee work usually in the evenings surrounded by my own bulldog and the bulldogs that I foster
We have had a wide range of bulldogs here of differing ages and differing health conditions
We were lucky enough to care for and love the famous Archie Hough with spina bifida. The bulldog that won everybody’s hearts and became Bulldog Rescue Fundraising Ambassador. We now have Pumpkin with the same condition and issues Archie had and we continue to fund raise in Archies name.
My trustee role is fundraising, and I deal with donations and collection boxes applying for grants and assistance with event organising and other fund raising related issues which is very demanding due to more funds being needed every year due to vets bills and the increase of dogs coming in to rescue. We run our own stall at events and make merchandise to help raise funds.
I also admin the bulldog rescue supporters page and advise and help bulldog owners needing advice with their bulldogs.
